Business Continuity Planning
Business Continuity Plans (BCP) provide the instruction for your site's personnel to respond to disasters, and to bring back the business's most critical functions for the survival of your business.
A BCP is similar to a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) in its function, but its scope is much larger. Besides the computer systems addressed in a DRP, a BCP may involve personnel evacuation or sheltering, personnel
relocation, alternate business functions, supplier and customer relations, public relations, and so forth.
Loss of your employees effectiveness can be a critical weak link in your business recovery. This factor will be addressed in your Business Continuity Plan created by Dreamcatcher Disaster Resilience, LLC.
Your Business Continuity Plan will be divided into three distinct hazard types:
- total destruction of the facility
- inability to access the facility
- catastrophic failure of the computing platform
Response to disaster will identify which business functions are critical, may be run in an alternate manner, or may be suspended until the recovery phase of the process.
The Recovery phase is where all functions are returned to a "business as usual" mode at your home site or new site.
